Carlo Acutis

Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London to Italian parents and raised in Milan. From a young age, he exhibited a deep devotion to the Eucharist and a remarkable aptitude for computer programming. Combining his faith and technical skills, Carlo created a website cataloging Eucharistic miracles worldwide, aiming to share his love for the Eucharist with others. He was also known for his acts of charity, using his resources to assist the homeless and those in need.

In 2006, at the age of 15, Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia. He offered his suffering for the Pope and the Church, expressing a desire to leave this world to be with Christ. Carlo passed away on October 12, 2006. His beatification took place on October 10, 2020, in Assisi, Italy, after the recognition of a miracle attributed to his intercession. A second miracle was confirmed in May 2024, leading to the announcement that Carlo will be canonized on April 27, 2025, during the Jubilee of Adolescents at the Vatican, making him the first millennial saint.

Pope Francis, in his apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit, highlighted Carlo's life, stating, "He knew how to use the new communications technology to transmit the Gospel, to communicate values and beauty." Carlo's ability to integrate his faith with modern technology serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that holiness is attainable for young people in today's digital age.
