Solanus Casey was born on November 25, 1870, in Oak Grove, Wisconsin. He joined the Capuchin Franciscans in 1897 and was ordained a priest in 1904. Due to academic challenges, he was assigned to roles such as porter, where he welcomed visitors and offered counsel. His deep faith and humility led many to seek his guidance, and he became known for his healing prayers and compassionate service.

Father Solanus passed away on July 31, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan. His cause for canonization began in 1982, and he was declared "Servant of God." He was beatified on November 18, 2017, by Cardinal Angelo Amato, representing Pope Francis. If canonized, he would be the first U.S.-born male priest to be declared a saint.

Father Solanus is remembered for his unwavering trust in God's providence and his dedication to serving others.
