Maria Luisa Corsini was born on June 24, 1884, in Florence, Italy, into the noble Corsini family. Her father, Angiolo Corsini, was a captain in the Royal Army, leading the family to relocate frequently to cities such as Pistoia, Arezzo, and Rome. Despite these moves, Maria received a robust education, developing a deep appreciation for literature and music. She furthered her studies to become a professor and authored numerous works on education and family life.
Maria married Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi on November 25, 1905, at the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome. Together, they had four children: Filippo, Stefania, Cesare, and Enrichetta. Their family life was deeply rooted in Catholic faith, characterized by daily Mass attendance and communal prayer. Maria was actively involved in various social and charitable endeavors, including volunteering with the Red Cross during World War II and providing refuge to those in need during wartime.
Maria passed away on August 26, 1965, in Serravalle di Bibbiena, Italy. Alongside her husband, Luigi, she was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 21, 2001, marking them as the first married couple to be beatified together. Their joint feast day is celebrated on November 25, commemorating their wedding anniversary and honoring their exemplary partnership in faith and charity.
