Sandra Sabattini (1961–1984) was an Italian woman whose deep faith and commitment to serving others have inspired many. Born on August 19, 1961, in Riccione, Italy, she was the eldest of two children in a devout family. From a young age, Sandra exhibited a strong spiritual life, engaging in daily prayers and keeping a journal of her spiritual reflections. She made her First Holy Communion in 1970 and was confirmed in 1972. At 12, she met Oreste Benzi, founder of the Pope John XXIII Community, and began volunteering at a youth summer camp for disabled children.

In 1978, Sandra met Guido Rossi at a carnival party, and they became engaged in 1979. She graduated from high school in 1980 and enrolled at the University of Bologna to study medicine, aspiring to become a missionary doctor in Africa. During her studies, she volunteered at a drug rehabilitation center run by the Pope John XXIII Community. Sandra was known for her dedication to helping the poor and marginalized, embodying the values of the community she was part of.

Tragically, on May 6, 1984, at the age of 22, Sandra was killed in a car accident while returning home from a weekend retreat. Her cause for beatification was initiated, and on October 24, 2021, she was beatified in the Cathedral of Rimini.
